Pixel Guy’s Quest is a game I made to learn the fundamentals of writing code for platformers.
I created all character animations and game environment art assets using Promotion. The musical score and sound effects were composed using Mixcraft and Audacity. I programmed all dynamic elements using Actionscript, figuring out basic physics for acceleration and gravity as I went.
The game ended up consisting of 36 levels and I decided to make it available on Newgrounds and Kongregate, as well as many other Flash portals.
